The specific topics that are covered by the journal are road and highway design, sub layers of railroad, geosynthetic reinforced ground, retaining structures, soil dynamics and foundations, engineering behavior of soil and rock, site characterization, slope stability, dams, rock engineering, earthquake engineering, environmental impacts of geotechnical and transportation engineering, geosynthetics, computer modeling, groundwater monitoring and restoration, geomechanics, planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operation of air, highway, rail, and urban transportation, pavement maintenance and performance, management of roads, bridges, and transit systems, traffic management technology, railway engineering and economics. Authors are also encouraged to submit papers on new and emerging topics within the general discipline of geotechnical and transportation engineering. Experimental papers are also welcomed, especially the ones with a clear and significant potential for practical application. Practice-oriented papers and case studies are particularly welcomed and encouraged.
